Variety Die & Stamping Co.

Variety Die & Stamping Co was originally founded as Variety Tool & Die in 1954 by Robert G. Woods. Located at 3115 Broad Street near downtown Dexter, Variety Tool and Die specialized in injection mold tools for the automotive industry. The focus on production of injection mold tools continued until the mid 1960’s.

In the late 1960’s, the operational focus of the company shifted as they acquired their first 35-ton press and began to build and run progressive stampings for the automotive industry. To reflect this strategic change in direction, the organization was renamed as Variety Die and Stamping Co. Within a short period of time, additional floor space would be needed to accommodate the growing progressive stamping industry.

In 1990, a new facility was built at Variety Die & Stamping’s now current location to accommodate the increasing size and scope of the die and stamping operations with multiple expansions through the 1990s bringing the facility to 44,248 square feet.  With subsequent additions in 2015, 2017, 2021, and 2022, the facility expanded to encompass 96,311 square feet.

Today, Variety Die and Stamping employs over 70 employees and specializes in progressive dies and production stampings and assemblies.  With a strong domestic and international presence in the automotive and lawn and garden industries, Variety Die & Stamping has become a shining example of American ingenuity and innovation in manufacturing.
